Lucy Bannister Questionnaire

We recently asked Lucy, one of our team members, a few questions about her yfcone experience. You can read her full questionnaire here:

 

  

1)    How did your relationship with God grow/develop/change during the year?
I’m a lot closer to God now than I was last year because I’ve learnt to trust His plans (no matter how crazy they sound).

2)    How did you find raising personal support for your year and what advice would you pass onto anyone thinking of applying to yfcone?
I thought that I’d really struggle raising my personal support – it seemed like loads of money at the time! For God though, it was no bother and it all came in. My advice to people thinking of applying to yfcone is pray about it loads and God will show you if it’s right for you. Be prepared though for a totally life-changing year!

3)       What types of things were you involved with last year?
I got up to loads last year, such as running clubs, teaching lessons and doing assemblies. The highlights were running an “Up All Night” event for 11-18year olds (with Sumo Suits at 3am!), dressing up as a baby (complete with nappy) in front of 950 people and best of all - seeing God change lives.

4)       What are you doing now and what do you plan to do next?
I’m back here for another year! I’ve joined the Academy and hope to go to university next year to study youth work.
